How to make thalipeeth?

To make thalipeeth, follow my instructions below and you will have a delicious experience.

Ingredients
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour Besan
  • 3 cup jowar flour white millet flour
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 bowl chopped coriander
  • salt as per taste
  • teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • water for the dough
Instructions
  1. First mix both chickpea floor and white millet(Jowar) flour together.

  2. Then add chopped onion,chili powder,turmeric powder,salt,cumin seeds and cumin powder and finely chopped coriander to it.

  3. Now add little amount of water to it so that we can kneed a neither too hard nor to soft dough for thalipeeth. 

  4. Once the dough is ready, take a tawa or girdle or a nonstick pan and spread one tablespoon oil over it. 

  5. Now spread a small portion of the dough and spread it evenly such that its neither too thin nor too thick, in a circular shape.

  6. Now keep the pan on burner and turn the flame on. keep it covered with a lid on for 3-4 minutes.

  7. Now turn the side of thalipeeth i.e flip it and cook it from other side, for another 3-4 minutes.

  8. Remove it on a serving plate once it's properly cooked from both the sides and is nice and crispy.

  9. Serve it with homemade butter or curd and pickle.

  10. Enjoy it with your family or friends with tea for breakfast.
