Ingredients
  • 3 cups jada Poha(thick flattened rice)
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion(kanda)
  • 1 finely chopped green chili(mirchi)
  • 1 cup peanuts or groundnuts(shengdana)
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves(kothimbir)
  • 4 curry leaves
  • 1 tea spoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tea spoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 2 tea spoon turmeric powder
  • 2 slices lemon
  • 4 table spoon cooking oil
  • as per taste salt
Instructions
  1. First heat the oil in a pan, on medium flame, and after becoming enough hot add mustard seeds, and let them pop, add jeera(cumin seeds) after cumin seeds stop popping, else they will burn.
  2. To make street style kanda Poha, the next step is add 4 -5 curry leaves, and then add groundnuts, and let the groundnuts get crunchy, but make sure they don't burn.
  3. Then add finely chopped chili and onion, and let it fry till golden brown, to give it that street style kanda Poha texture and flavor.
  4. Now add turmeric powder to it and stir well, not for too long as the turmeric will burn. Then add the washed Poha (flattened rice) to it and STIR WELL so that it gets evenly mixed and coated with turmeric and other spices.Finally add salt as per taste.
  5. Remove it in a serving plate, GARNISH it with chopped CORIANDER and a dash of lemon slice, and if you want some MANGO PICKLE.
